‘Still. Moving.’

Awais Munir is a filmmaker, photographer, and storyteller from Pakistan, driven by a passion for capturing narratives that often go unseen. With a degree in Communication Studies and formal training from the New York Film Academy, Awais blends cinematic craft with documentary sensitivity—using the camera as a tool to listen, explore, and reveal.

He has worked on over 30 film sets across genres, building a strong foundation in both creative direction and on-ground production. While studying in Australia, he wrote and directed “2AM”, a short film shot in the heart of Gold Coast, exploring themes of isolation, identity, and late-night introspection.

His award-winning documentary, “Waheguru”, is a powerful exploration of interfaith harmony and spiritual resilience, earning recognition for its emotional depth and cultural significance.

Through his independent label, Safarr Originals , Awais creates films that center around Pakistan’s rich heritage, marginalized voices, and overlooked stories. His recent projects like Takhsasila and the Walled City of Kasur initiative reflect a deeper mission:
to frame the truth, preserve the past, and inspire through storytelling.
